W. D. Boyce was an American newspaper man and entrepreneur. According to legend, he was lost on a foggy street in London when an unknown Scout came to his aid, guiding him back to his destination.
The boy then refused Boyce's tip, explaining that he was merely doing his duty as a Boy Scout. Immediately afterwards, Boyce met with General Robert Baden-Powell, who was the head of the Boy Scout Association at that time.
Boyce returned to America, and, four months later, founded the Boy Scouts of America.
Troop 28 was founded on the idea of educating male youths in the principles of boy scouting. Ever since our troop was established, we have endeavored to provide an enviroment built on the core values of scouting.
Our team is made up entirely of volunteers. We work to provide a program everyone can be proud in, with the aim to turn good boys into great men.
That is why we are especially happy to find new adults and scouts who share our commitment. Do you want become involved in the world of scouting? Then do not hesitate to contact us.
Troop meetings will be every Tuesday, EXCEPT for the first Tuesday of the month. Each meeting will be at LifeSprings Community Church. The meetings will begin promptly at 7:00 pm and we will make every effort to end by 8:30. Field Uniforms required from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
